We’ve all heard the great debate around the world about whether or not SEO is necessary for your business. We can answer that question honestly as a well-awarded SEO company with many accolades and experience.

Not every company requires search engine optimization. In fact, there are some businesses around the world that are quite successful without engaging in the practice. However, just because not every business requires SEO does not mean that SEO isn’t a pillar that can help your company grow to the next level.

A Brief History Lesson about SEO

SEO is thought to have been born in 1991. Around this time, the world’s first website was launched, and one rapidly became many as the internet became clogged with web pages. As a result, there was significant demand for structure and accessibility, and the world’s first search engines were developed.

Excite changed information categorization in 1993, and Alta Vista, Yahoo, and others followed suit in 1994.

However, SEO truly took off in 1996, when Sergey Brin and Larry Page began developing BackRub, which would go on to become the largest and most well-known search engine to date. Did you think I was going to say Google? BackRub eventually became Google and was registered as a domain name in 1997, so you’re correct.

Since then, SEO has been taking the internet marketing world by storm with over 1.3 million businesses taking their hand with this strategy. In this article, we are going to go over the promising factors that SEO has to offer that will make your investment the best decision for your business. Ultimately answering the question: “Can SEO take your business to the next level?”

Optimize Your Website

When I first started doing SEO, I had no idea what it meant to “optimize your website.” However, after a few months of working with various clients, I finally understood what it meant and what it entailed. Optimizing your website entails the following steps:

  • Original, well-written engaging content
  • Compressed, quality images (format and an ideal size to create a great user experience)
  • Informative videos that relate to your website’s content
  • Detailed Analytics so you find the answers as to what your target audience is looking for
  • Improving page speed
  • Periodic website testing

The list could go on and on. Optimizing your website for real people allows you to gain the trust of your visitors, begin building a relationship, and sell products without having to make a sales call. Every marketing strategist has their own digital marketing strategies that they adhere to, which is great if businesses, particularly small businesses, want to be found on search engine results pages such as Google search, Bing search, Yahoo search, and so on.

Organic Traffic Beats All

Quality SEO strategies are usually associated with a website that is organically growing. Those who invest in paid advertisements will not gain the same authority or credibility as organically grown websites. Most business owners believe that if they invest in PPC, their traffic and revenue will grow exponentially in a matter of months. We do not believe they are incorrect, but they are not entirely correct.

PPC is only useful when you need a quick boost in leads. Meaning, if a law firm runs a campaign for two months, it may receive a large number of leads that convert into revenue during that time period, but the law firm’s ability to become a player in the industry is unlikely.

Because the primary goal of SEO is to assist businesses or organizations in becoming well-known, the more innovative content your website contains and the responsive design it stands on, the more likely your business or organization will gain credibility.

Google applauds companies that have grown organically. In other words, the more backlinks it has and the more natural activity the website has, the more likely Google is to rank the page higher in its results. Waiting six months for a first-page spot may appear daunting, but it is preferable to paying thousands of dollars per month and hoping users click on your website.

SEO Is The Best Way To See What Viewers Want

When you step inside the world of SEO, you’ll notice that the majority of SEO is all research. Actually, research is at the heart of all digital marketing. When you implement SEO on your website, you begin the journey of understanding who your audience is and how to convert roaming users to become a part of your consistent traffic.

Let’s face it: if SEO meant simply keyword stuffing your website, slapping on a few cool visual elements, and building a responsive web design, everyone would be doing it, and Google and Bing would probably go bankrupt. When conducting SEO research, tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, and/or Moz are extremely useful.

Basic research includes:

  • Competitive analysis
  • Link building
  • Keyword research
  • Content research

These are critical factors to consider when determining how to improve your search engine ranking positions. Without proper research, your website is likely to get lost in the shuffle of other websites vying for the top spot. As a business owner, your primary goal is to use SEO services to promote your website to the rest of the world.
